The Biocom Heart Tracker 3.0 is a PC-based system that comes with an HRM-02 Pulse Wave Sensor. The system and sensor are designed to assist users with lessening the effects of an irregular heartrate that can result from disabilities such as depression and anxiety. The sensor has a USB connection at one end and an ear lobe sensor at the other. To use, a user starts up the software on his/her computer; and clips the ear lobe sensor of the HRM-02 Pulse Wave Sensor onto his/her ear and plugs the other end into a USB port on his/her computer. The software will then provide the user with a live visual and auditory breath pacer on the computer screen. The user focuses on the breath pacer and follows its movements – breathing in when it goes up; breathing out when it goes down; and hold his/her breath when the pacer stops moving. The sensor will continuously monitor the user’s heartrate during the length of the session (i.e., 15 minutes or so) and the software will adjust the breath pacer accordingly to help him/her adjust their breathing to steady his/her heartrate.
